The last post: English language Challenges

This is the last post I will write you here. I hope that you can enjoy it very much like you enjoyed the previous posts.

Today, I’m going to write you about the English Language Challenges. Firstly, I want to explain you my experience learning English at university. I must tell you that I have been very hard for me do the English courses in this university, because I don’t have so much knowledge in this language and I have always had difficulties in some grammatical aspects like: know more vocabulary, the order in the words, put many times the subject in the sentence, and others. So, I have had to do a great effort for I go learning this language. At the university, I have learnt many things about the English language and the teachers have helped me very much and they have understood my process and achievements.

In this experience, I liked it learn to write in a personal blog, because I have the option of can use the technology writing on different topics every week and seeing and commenting in the blogs of my classmates.

I know that I must improve many skills for English learning like: grammar, verbal expression, talking, listening, etc. and the fluency in the skills previously named. So I’m thinking I must study very hard for to be in a good level and I can practice talking with my friends in English.

Finally, is hard for me I can use the language English, because in my educational practices I have to speak principally in Spanish, but I have been watching in t.v some series done in English and so I can learn the phonetic and new words for use in my English conversations.

Changes to my study programme: Education.

Hi dear readers!

Today, I’m going to write you about the changes I would like to make to my study programme. It’s hard for me to write about this topic because my career (Educación Parvularia y Básica Inicial) was closed in the year 2013, but anyway I will write about the changes that I would like for my career. Firstly, I don’t like that my career has so much repetitive subjects in the investigation area, because there are subjects that are very important too and it’s not there as: health (there is an education elective but it’s not enough), sign language, social skills with different social actors, and others (I know that is important to have research subjects for to be a good education professional, but it’s too much), so I would like the research subjects to be less, it passing of 7  to 5 (removing it Study of cases I y II), and I would like to add more subjects related with didactic and other elements necessary in the school and the kindergarten (previously named).

Also, I would like to add mentions and more specialization in my career, because for teach in primary, it’s necessary to have a mention like: Language, Math, Science, Music, Arts, and others but in my career we never had it (we tried to have mention, but it was very hard to make those changes).

Finally, I think that the workload in my career is ok, although the activities should be mainly connected between subjects. Also the length is fine, because in five years one can see many things and learn several knowledge, skills, experiences, and others. As well, is important keep the use of technology in the classroom for we can learn different methods in their utilization for our practices. Finally, the teaching methods in my career are very well because the activities are thinking in the future professional that we will be.

My next summer holidays

Hi dear readers!

This week I’m going to write about my next summer holidays. The year is ending and our body knows it. In my case, I haven’t had a good year for several reasons and my body is feeling all the fatigue and stress accumulated. So I’m waiting with a lot enthusiasm the summer holidays and I hope to enjoy it until the last day.

I’m planning my summer holidays since I began the semester, because the past year I couldn’t get out from Santiago so many days. So I visited Valparaiso and Viña del Mar City for a weekend. Now, I would like to visit “La Serena” city and for several days, because I want to change of beaches and the same places (usually, I'm going to the beaches in the fifty region), also I talked with my parents about this matter and they want to visit another places too. We need get out of this “cement jungle” that is Santiago city and enjoy in a beautiful place like La Serena. I would like travel with my parents there, but anyway, I want to be together with my boyfriend in that place or in another if we can’t visit La Serena.

Maybe if I can’t go to La Serena city, may at least I visit somewhere in the fifty region again, because I need get out and take another breath, but if I going to La Serena, I would like to know “El faro” because is a symbol of the city and for that many people visit it, but also I want visit “La Recova” a market where there are very shop, principally the gastronomic traditional like fish, shellfish and the typical fruit “papaya”.

My favorite myth: Atlantis: the lost city.

Today, I’m going to write you about my favorite myth called “Atlantis: the lost city”. I like it because when I was a child I watched in t.v an animated movie related with this myth. The movie is called “Atlantis: the lost empire” it was created for Disney animation studios. When I saw the film, I liked it very much, because this film shows how the man is able to venture himself searching something only by an idea or a myth and also because it shows us how this lost city could be with its constructions, monuments and its inhabitants.

The myth of Atlantis appeared by the philosopher Plato, when he paid attention to the story of a Greek inhabitant called Solon who had listened in Egyptian how a city had been destroyed for a great cataclysm. Plato rewrote this story saying that the Atlantes (inhabitants of Atlantis) were destroyed because they were worshipers of Poseidon, god of sea, and the other gods did not like it, for that reason they were sinking in the ocean Atlantic by many cataclysms (seaquake and earthquake).

How could be Atlantis by Plato.

Plato wrote about the Atlantis, he described it like a beautiful city, with great abundance, very advanced for its time and it shared things from other civilizations far away to it as “the culture Maya” “Aztec” and “Egyptian”. Therefore, several researchers have been tried to find the Atlantis, but until today, nobody has been able to find it.

There are many ideas and speculations about the Atlantis’s localization. Plato mentioned that Atlantis is located in the Ocean Atlantic between Europe and America, but other theories tell us that Atlantis is in the Mediterranean Sea or in the Caribbean, although there is not an exact idea about its location.

Post graduate studies

Hi dear readers!!!

Today I am going to write you about postgraduate studies, and what I’m planning to do when I will finish my career.

I am not sure if I will apply for a postgraduate program when I finish my studies immediately, because I must consider some factors related to the funding of my undergraduate degree. Actually, I am studying with a scholarship, it is called “Beca Vocación de Profesor”, in which I must reciprocate this scholarship when I finish my career. There is a time limit to do that and It will take me around three years to complete it. This is why I will prioritize to finish this obligation as fast as I can. 

Anyway, to get a postgraduate degree is always useful because it leads you to learn some topics which are not always included in the undergraduate program and they may help you to do that you really want. If I find a way to complete all my liabilities in a short time, I would like to enter in a postgraduate program here, in Chile. I don’t like the idea of studying far from home, and I think it is not always easy to adapt to a new environment. So, I have been reading about some postgraduate programs related to Education which are been imparted here in “Universidad de Chile”, like “Magíster en Educación mención Currículo y Comunidad Educativa”. It sounds really interesting! Although I would like to study a postgraduate programs related to “psychomotricity” but I haven’t found good options for it yet. I hope to find one with great Teachers and an attractive program and which allows me to study it in a part-time course.
